Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG already works intensively with technological innovations and trends. The challenge: A structured, cross-business-unit trend management system that provides orientation without sacrificing flexibility.
Workshop Objectives:
- Getting started with structured trend and future scenario analysis
- Building a shared understanding of trends within the team
- Developing initial approaches for assessing and integrating trends into the corporate context
The focus was on practical application: Participants were to be empowered to identify and evaluate trends, and to derive initial concrete innovation ideas from them.

Methodology and Workshop Agenda – Trendschool
During a one-day workshop, TRENDONE provided practical training on the micro-trend methodology. Participants learned how to derive relevant developments from concrete signals. The goal was to build a shared understanding of trends, strengthen methodological competence, and develop initial transfer ideas for the company.
The content was individually tailored to Siemens Energy and combined:
- Keynote: Introduction to Foresight & Trend Work
- Trendschool Session: Methodology Training for Deriving & Evaluating Trends
- Working Session: Application in the Corporate Context with Discussion & Ideation
Key questions were addressed: Why should one engage with foresight and trends? What defines a trend? And how can trends be jointly evaluated and integrated into daily business operations?
