Industry 5.0 marks the convergence of humans and machines, complementing the advances of Industry 4.0 with a focus on human-robot collaboration. What’s important to understand is, that the idea of Industry 5.0 is not limited to “industry.” It applies to every sector and every organization. This means that its scope of application is much wider than that of Industry 4.0.
As outlined by the European Commission, Industry 5.0 is based on three main pillars: a human-centric industry, a resilient industry and a sustainable industry. All three pillars have significant implications for business strategies. This shift from economic to societal value is crucial as we approach pivotal moments like Earth Overshoot Day.
